new game nascar 11

Postby abbotttazz » Sun Mar 27, 2011 9:49 am

Hey Guys, Just wanted to talk about the new game. the way I understand, it is being released Tuesday, which you all want to switch over and run Martinsville in less than a week. Martiansville is a tuff track. Being unfamilar with the game will make it even harder. I personally would like to delay the switch over from 09 to the 11 game a week. In other words run Martinsville with the old game. That way we can all get familar with the new game . I know with myself I will not be able to practice, due to heavy work load til the weekend. Please give me your thoughts.

There are already practice races scheduled or in the process of being scheduled for this coming week with the release of the new game. In my OPINION we should continue on as scheduled. We will be able to work out any bugs and find any issues by running several races as talked about last night. The fundamentals of the game will not change at all. 5 days to figure out how to run a new game is alot of time. People can figure out other new games in a lot less time and with the knowledge base we have here it should be no problem. Like I stated earlier that is my OPINION and start flaming as soon as you want.

Hey Duecey, Your opinion is greatly appreciated! Thats why I made this post. Some of us won't get 5 days practice with the new game, due to work schedules etc. I would only get 1 maybe 2 days to get familar with the new game. In my opinion that is not enough time to prepare for a short track like martinsville. Again, its just my opinion, nothing more. ( 1 or 2 days equals about maybe 4hr practice time!!!! ) Also, the schedule originally stated that we would make the switch over @ Talladega, not Martinsville.

I believe EA had an agreement with NASCAR licensing that they would maintain the NASCAR 09 servers until Activision/Eutechnycs released their game; however, it isn't slated on EA's shutdown server list:

I honestly have the opinion of moving forward as slated too. I mean, Abbott I completely understand what you're saying by only having 5 days to prep for Martinsville. Understandible. And also about the money thing you brought up last night, I understand that times are very hard right now. But all you need to have is at least a crisp 5 dollar bill when you go to pre-order the game.

I myself, for the past month and a half, have only been working 8 hours a week at work, at 8.85 an hour. That's essentially a 60 dollar paycheck after taxes. I got car insurance and gas to worry about. Sure it's not a lot, but 30 bucks a week for insurance and obviously gas is close to 4 dollars a gallon now.

But even I have been able to take 5 bucks per week and put it on the new game. I have had my reserve on the game since November 18th. Every week on Friday for the past month and a half, (knowing that I wasn't working very much, otherwise I would have just paid the other 58 bucks come March 29th) I've put 5 bucks more towards the game. It's gotten to now it's release time and I only have 15 bucks to pay on the game on Tuesday. What I'm essentially saying is that if you spaced it out and kept feeding it little by little, I mean really nobody should have THAT much of an issue with getting the new game.

I agree with both TURTLE and Duecey. imagine sitting down with a new game...like Final Fantasy or Call of Duty. I'm sure that in 5 days of ownership, youll be able to at least run the game smoothly. You may not exactly be GOOD at it, but you'll know how to play the game. The fundamentals are there.

And with Turtle, I agree. The EA servers are shot at this point in my opinion. I always said this game was on it's way out...but I was saying that at the end of the 2009 season.

Here it is, we have had almost 3 years to prep and get ready for a new NASCAR game. I personally believe that the time just simply has come to put NASCAR 09 to rest, and not have to drag it on one more race than needed.

Well the servers screwed me and few others this weekend.last night especially with poop tires couldnt hear lot of drivers and they couldnt hear me.caused cobra to get into me when i got loose.i had grip going way in inside apron at 1 and when cobra was behind she just jumped out on old worn tires glitched ! last night was he worst i have seen it.killed my car !I am with going with new game.Like Turtle stated team mates help also.Wish i could put in hours of work in each week. But since i dont i try and have great runnin cars by race day.But what ever you decide doesent matter. But with way servers are and this new game is out why not use top grade instead low budget servers.Heard new game will use xbox and microsoft servers combo.

I honestly don't care if we move to NTG this next week. I just wanna race! Although, we have to wait and see if EA shuts the servers down. Like i've said last night, i wouldn't be surprised if they were to do so.

@WhiteTrash: Your right on the servers. They are using Microsoft's servers. Thats also the reason why that they need to have a report system in place so that we can drive our custom cars online.

I don't feel the money is the issue. The $69.00 is no big deal to me, the reason I brought up the money last night is some of our racers are kids! Which means they may not have it right away, or rely upon their parents to purchase the game. I just don't like jumping into something blindly. Team mates are great, but we all know in the end you have to rely upon yourself. So again I say I still would prefer not to move over this quickly. A one week delay isn't gonna kill anybody.
